AI visibility and mentions
Find out whether AI engines can read your site, how often ChatGPT and Google AI mention you, which questions and pages are involved, and how you compare with competitors.
Why it matters
When someone asks ChatGPT or Google which coffee grinder to buy, the answer names a few brands and cites a few pages. Those mentions shape decisions, even when nobody clicks. AI visibility measures how often you are part of those answers. If the idea is new to you, read How AI search works first.
IMVASA has two pages for this: AI Visibility for the overall picture, and AI Search Mentions for the detail.
AI Visibility: the overall picture
For any domain, the AI Visibility page shows:
- AI crawler access: whether your robots.txt lets the crawlers used by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Bing Copilot read your site. A blocked crawler means that engine cannot read your pages, so it will not cite them.
- llms.txt: whether your site has one, and what it says.
- Mentions by platform: how often ChatGPT and Google AI mention your domain, with the AI search volume behind those answers and estimated impressions.
It also links to the two page-level checks that live in the site audit: structured data, and direct answer paragraphs that engines can quote.
Note: "AI search volume" estimates how often questions like these are asked of AI assistants. "Impressions" estimate how often answers mentioning you were shown. Both are modelled, so use them to compare and track trends rather than as exact counts.
AI Search Mentions: the detail
Prompts
The questions people ask ChatGPT and Google AI whose answers mention your domain. For each question you see its AI search volume, the sources the answer cited, and the other brands it named. This tells you which topics bring you up, and who you share those answers with.
Cited pages
Which of your pages AI answers cite as sources, with mentions, AI search volume and impressions. These are the pages AI engines already trust. Keep them accurate and current, and link from them to the pages you want to grow.
Share of voice
How often ChatGPT mentions you compared with up to 9 competitors, as a share of all mentions. Add the same competitors you use elsewhere, from Competitors. Track it monthly: it is the clearest single measure of whether your AI visibility is growing.
How to improve your AI visibility
- Let the right crawlers in. Allow the search crawlers of the engines you want to appear in. You can still block training-only crawlers if you prefer.
- Add an llms.txt. Use the free llms.txt generator.
- Answer questions directly. Take the prompts where competitors are named and you are not, and write clear, answer-first sections that address them.
- Strengthen your cited pages. Update them, add evidence and dates, and link from them to related pages.
- Build mentions elsewhere. AI engines learn about brands from the whole web: reviews, comparisons, forums and press. Being discussed in the places your customers read matters.
The Get cited by AI playbook turns this into a plan.

Try: "How visible is brewlab.coffee in ChatGPT compared with beanhouse.com and grindgear.co? Which questions mention them but not us, and what should we write to change that?"
