Free AI Crawler Checker

See a page the way ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude's crawlers get it: the HTML your server sends, with no JavaScript run. Then test whether robots.txt or your CDN blocks them. Free, no account.

Enter a page you want cited in AI answers.

Why AI Crawlers Miss Pages Google Can See

Googlebot runs JavaScript before it indexes a page. Most AI crawlers don't: they read the HTML your server sends and move on. A page built in the browser by React, Vue or a site builder can rank in Google and still be an empty shell to ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Claude.

The other gap is permission. A Disallow in robots.txt or a CDN's AI bot block keeps the answer crawlers out even when the content is there. The robots.txt checker tests every crawler, training bots included, and the llms.txt checker checks the file that points AI tools at your best pages.

How to Check What AI Crawlers See

  1. 1

    Paste the page URL

Enter a page you want quoted in AI answers: a guide, a product page or your homepage.

  2. 2

    Read what they read

The checker shows the title, headings and opening paragraphs exactly as they arrive in the HTML, before any JavaScript runs.

  3. 3

    Check each crawler

See whether robots.txt allows each AI answer crawler, and whether your CDN or firewall answers their user agent.

  4. 4

    Fix what's missing

Server-render content that only appears after JavaScript runs, and allow the answer crawlers in robots.txt and your bot settings.

AI Crawler Checker FAQ

Do AI crawlers run JavaScript?

Most don't. The crawlers behind ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Claude read the HTML the server sends. Content a script adds later, as in many React or Vue apps, is invisible to them. Google is the exception: it renders JavaScript for Search and AI Overviews.

Which crawlers does this check?

The AI search and answer crawlers: OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User, Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User, and Bingbot, which feeds Copilot. robots.txt is tested for all of them, and OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot are also fetched with their own user agent.

Should I block GPTBot?

That's your call, and it doesn't cost AI search visibility. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and CCBot collect training data. Blocking them opts out of model training; it doesn't stop ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini citing your page in an answer.

Why would my CDN block AI crawlers?

Cloudflare and other CDNs offer a one-click AI bot block, and Cloudflare turns it on by default for new domains. robots.txt can say the crawlers are welcome while the edge refuses them with a 403, so the page never reaches AI answers.

Is this exactly what the real crawlers see?

Close, not exact. The checker sends each crawler's user agent from our own servers, while the real crawlers connect from their own IP ranges, which a firewall can treat differently. Your CDN's bot or firewall logs show what really happened.

Is the AI crawler checker free?

Yes, with no signup.
