Page not live yet? Start from a blank form with the schema markup generator.
What the JSON-LD Generator Reads From Your Page
- Headline and name: the
<h1>, thenog:title, then the<title>. - Description and image:
og:descriptionor the meta description, andog:image. - Author and dates: the author meta tag or a
rel="author"link, andarticle:published_timeandarticle:modified_time. - Price, currency, availability and brand from the
product:tags shops like Shopify write. - Site name from
og:site_name, a logo from the Apple touch icon, phone and email fromtel:andmailto:links, and social profiles from links to LinkedIn, X, YouTube and the like. - Breadcrumbs from the URL path, ending at the page itself.
Anything the page doesn't state is left blank rather than guessed. If the title or image it finds is wrong, fix the tags first with the Open Graph checker, since search engines and social apps read the same tags.
Why Draft JSON-LD From the Live Page
Google's rule for structured data is that it must describe what visitors can see. Markup typed into a blank form drifts: a headline gets reworded, a price changes, and the JSON-LD still says the old thing. Starting from the page's own tags keeps the two in step, and the check of what is already there stops you shipping a duplicate block.
Structured data is not a ranking factor, but it makes a page eligible for rich results and gives AI answer engines facts they can cite without guessing.
How to Generate JSON-LD From a URL
- 1
Paste the page URL
Use the exact page you want to mark up. Each page gets its own JSON-LD, so a blog post and your home page are two separate runs.
- 2
Check the suggested type
The generator picks a type from the page's og:type, publish date, price and URL, and skips types the page already has. Switch type if it picked the wrong one.
- 3
Fill the gaps
Fields the page doesn't state are left blank, and required ones are flagged. Fill them from what is visible on the page, never from what you wish it said.
- 4
Copy the script tag into the page
Paste the <script type="application/ld+json"> block into the head of that page, or into your CMS's custom-code or SEO field.
- 5
Validate the live page
Run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test once it is published, then request indexing in Search Console.
Check the schema on every page
The free audit validates the structured data already on a page, flags missing required properties, and checks titles, canonicals, links and AI-search readiness too.
JSON-LD Generator FAQ
How does a JSON-LD generator from a URL work?
It fetches the page once and reads what is already there: the Open Graph, article and product meta tags, the H1, contact and social links, and any structured data the page carries. It maps those onto schema.org properties and hands you an editable draft. Nothing is published until you paste it.
Will it duplicate the schema my page already has?
It never changes your page. It lists the types already present and starts you on one the page is missing, so you don't paste a second Organization block next to the first. If you are replacing existing markup, remove the old script tag when you add the new one.
Why are some fields blank?
Only what the page states is filled in. Guessing an author, a price or a publish date would produce markup that doesn't match the visible page, which Google treats as spammy structured data. Required blanks are flagged so you know what to add.
Can it read pages built with JavaScript?
It reads the HTML your server returns, which is what Google sees on its first pass. Titles or meta tags added only in the browser won't be found. That is worth fixing anyway, because some crawlers, including most AI crawlers, never run JavaScript.
How is this different from the schema markup generator?
Same 13 schema types and the same output. The schema markup generator starts from example values, for pages that don't exist yet. This one starts from your live page, so the markup matches it from the first draft.
Is this JSON-LD generator free?
Yes. There is no signup, and the code it generates is yours to use on any site.
