Claude watermark remover

AI assistants can leave invisible characters in copied text: zero-width spaces, private-use glyphs, variation selectors and non-breaking spaces. This tool finds and strips them so your text is clean plain Unicode. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to remove invisible AI watermark characters

  1. 1

    Paste the AI generated text

Copy the text out of Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant and paste it into the input box. Nothing is uploaded; the cleaning runs in your browser.

  2. 2

    Review the detected characters

The scan lists each hidden character class it found with exact code points and counts, so you can see what was actually embedded.

  3. 3

    Choose your cleaning rules

Invisible characters are removed by default. Optionally normalise smart quotes, dashes, ellipses and trailing whitespace.

  4. 4

    Copy the cleaned text

Copy the output and paste it into your CMS, doc or editor. The result is plain Unicode with no invisible markers.

Frequently asked questions

How does Claude mark AI generated content?
Anthropic applies a statistical watermark to the wording of some model outputs and attaches C2PA provenance metadata to generated files. Copied text can also carry invisible Unicode such as zero-width spaces, private-use glyphs and variation selectors.
Does this tool remove Claude's watermark?
It removes invisible characters and formatting artefacts that travel with copy and paste. It does not claim to defeat statistical watermarking embedded in the wording itself, and it cannot strip C2PA metadata from files.
Which characters does it strip?
Zero-width spaces and joiners, word joiner and BOM, private use area glyphs, variation selectors, Unicode tag characters, bidi and formatting controls, plus optional normalisation of unusual spaces, smart quotes, dashes and ellipses.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The scan and clean run entirely client side in your browser. The text never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
Why do invisible characters matter for SEO?
Hidden characters can break exact match search, corrupt slugs and JSON-LD values, and inflate character counts in titles and meta descriptions. Clean plain Unicode is safer for both search engines and answer engines.
